Stephen is an experienced technology marketer, business consultant and digital designer.
He is the former chairperson of the New Zealand Game Developers Association, where he led the Interactive Aotearoa report for government about growing New Zealand’s interactive industry, founded the Kiwi Game Starter competition and worked with the NZ Film Commission to create the Interactive Development Fund. He is also on the Steering Group of WeCreate, the coalition of creative industries.
Stephen has mentored several tech startups and been a mentor at the Lighting Lab digital business accelerator, Kiwi Game Starter, StartupWeekend and is an angel investor.
As a Director of InGame he helps clients use digital technologies for behaviour change and education. He is New Zealand’s most experienced gamification consultant, working with corporate, government and education clients on projects including mental health, dyslexia, financial literacy, wellness, health and safety.
Stephen has a strong track record in using technology for successful marketing and communications campaigns, and is a former Director of Pursuit PR and former Director of Marketing for the University of Waikato. His clients have included Xbox, Facebook, Microsoft, IBM, Fonterra, Southern Cross Healthcare, University of Auckland and many high-growth technology exporters.
He has experience in healthcare, not-for-profit, education, investment and film and transmedia sectors.
